We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise that require you to cancel your booking. In some cases your cat sitter may be happy to waive their cancellation fee.
Cat in a Flat has a fairly lenient Cancellation Policy, so it’s at your cat sitter's sole discretion as to whether they would like to grant a full refund (excluding Cat in a Flat fees) or not.
What qualifies as an extenuating circumstance?
Government-mandated obligations including jury duty, travel and health (COVID 19) restrictions. Please note, these obligations must be dated after the cat sitting service was booked.
Serious illness or death of a pet, owner or their immediate family member.
Natural disasters that prevent a sitter from providing services. Examples include:
What should you do if you need to cancel?
Let your cat sitter know that you need to cancel as soon as possible. When discussing the cancellation, please take our Cancellation Policy into consideration as the cat sitter will have set their time aside and possibly turned down other jobs to look after your kitty.

If the cat sitter has agreed to grant a full refund (excluding Cat in a Flat fees), please let our customer support team know and ask the sitter to confirm this by either:
replying in the booking thread that they will give you a FULL REFUND (and not just that they're okay with the cancellation)
include a screenshot of their message confirming the refund
Changing your confirmed booking for another date
Unfortunately we currently don’t have any way of postponing your booking indefinitely, but if you have specific dates in mind and your sitter is available, you can simply cancel and re-book.
