Does an owner need to inform the cat sitter about CCTV cameras in their home?

A cat owner has the right to protect their property and this can be done by using a CCTV system in their home. They are not legally obliged to inform cat sitters of the filming, but the Surveillance Camera Commissioner (SCC) recommends that users of CCTV systems should operate them in a responsible way to respect the privacy of others.

Being a friendly community, we encourage cat owners to make pet sitters aware that they have CCTV.

Ask yourself, would you like to be filmed without your knowledge?
